What does o8 cost?

o8 is free forever with your own model keys — the full app, not a trial. The only paid thing is an optional, one-time Founding Operator edition.

Free forever — the whole thing

The full app, the governance gate, the Engineering Brain, the canvas — all free when you run it on your own Claude or Codex keys. Not a trial, not a crippled tier, not a seat-limited team plan. You bring the model keys you already pay your provider for; o8 doesn’t proxy your requests or mark up usage.

  • The orchestrator and the full agent fleet.
  • The review gate, merge gate, and conflict detection.
  • The Engineering Brain and organizational memory.
  • The canvas, the audit trail, and mobile approval.
  • Symon, the voice operator.

Why there’s a paid edition at all

We don’t charge for capability — only for the cost of running the fast managed versionfor you. When o8 runs inference on its own infrastructure instead of waiting on a local CLI, someone has to pay for that compute. That’s the one thing the optional edition covers.

Founding Operator — optional, one-time, 250 ever

Founding Operatoris the early edition, limited to 250 people, ever. It’s a one-time purchase — a way to get in early, not a subscription and not a stake in the company. The price rises by cohort as seats fill: $150, then $250, then $500 depending on how early you are. What it includes:

  • Early access, always on — experimental features land for you a release channel ahead, forever.
  • Managed essentials, for life — the Fast Brain (instant answers, no CLI wait), dictation polish, and premium speech-to-text, on automatically within fair use. You never pay the future infra tier.
  • Everything in Free — the whole app is already yours forever with your own keys; this isn’t a paywall.
  • An exclusive “o8” signature theme — a founder-only theme on the canvas.
  • Founding Operator status — a numbered badge and your name on the wall.
